Occasionally, I like to capture images with some sort of digital cinema equipment. I’m not yet that great at it but I like thinking about composition and experimenting as I go.
I first visited a film set when I was 14 or so and got to spend a week on a Universal Studios stage for the filming of Providence for NBC. (Awesomely, I got to hold a chimp between takes!) Seeing the scale of production and the building of worlds up-close was fantastic. The experience made me realise that the power to take things once-relegated to imagination and vividly make them shareable existed and could be wielded by filmmakers.
For a few days, I was a PA on a World War II short (I sat in a trench and operated an air cannon and got super sun burnt) and years later was a PA for a few days on Love (carried lenses around and operated a sock-mic).
Recently, I’ve been helping my friends from the Valley film a series of YouTube videos. They write the stories and I operate the camera. Here is episode 5 to give you a glimpse of what we’re up to:
If you are working on a project, I’m happy to help out (and be paid in tacos).
I’ll post more of my videos here soon.

I also watch films. You can find my favorite films listed here or ones I’ve watched recently on icheckMovies.
